And well, that is supposed to be an elected representative. As in - the cream and crop of a nation. Back in the day of say the good olde Roman empire, you did not apologise to the barbarians you conquered before taking away their valuables. You came, you saw and you conquered and thats how it was done, without such repulsive insults to common sense and human dignity. At least the Romans brought civilization with them, and by civilization I don't mean McDonalds, I mean roads, running water, sanitation, public buildings. Unlike a certain other starting with U and ending on SA. Where they go, civilization ends. Iraq is now a tribal/sectarian mess, roads are bombed out and dangerous, you can forget about running water and electricity and schools and such? Going out to the market is dangerous enough.

60 casualties in a NATO base attack...but otherwise the country is pacified.  And its a fair bet there were several times that number of attackers. Company sized unit. Its been 10 years already and if the Afghani insurgents(I'm not going to call them Taliban) are emboldened enough to try something that big, because come on - major attack means major retaliation, gunships and bombs will arrive in no time, they are on the rise again. Big time too.

They have no reason to do anything else. They don't believe they are being "liberated", but they get to see the money syphoned out from the Karzai's government faster that the rate of UAV attacked weddings and funerals. Works wonders for the esprit de corps.

Karzai's words can't be misinterpreted - he has very little say in his own country except inside the capitol, so if he's saying Afghanistan will assist Pakistan if the US attacks it, its because that's what will happen.Not much a president can do if his entire country is not listening to him. Unfortunately the Hope for the best, ignore the rest mentality is still running rampant in places where it really shouldn't be - the Pentagon and NATO headquarters that is.
